With NFL free agency starting at midnight tonight, there is no doubt that there will be a huge frenzy amongst NFL owners, who are hoping to land their most coveted players. The thing that will make this year’s free agency even crazier, is that this upcoming season is going to be uncapped, which means that there is no limit to how much a team can spend on its players.
Because of this, everyone needs to beware of Dan Snyder and the Washington Redskins.
Snyder is known for throwing around his money in capped years, so just imagine what this guy is going to do this year. If he sees a player he wants, he is going to bargain hard to get him, and he will even overpay a player if he wants him bad enough.
Since Snyder did NOT spend $600,000 on alligator furniture, he will have that much more to spend in free agency. I would be surprised if that actually comes into play, but when it comes to signing free agents in an uncapped year, the more money you have, the better your chances are to assemble your dream team.
Does that mean that Julius Peppers and Brandon Marshall will become Redskins soon?
I wouldn’t doubt it for a second.
If you think the NFL has been unpredictable in the last few years, just wait until the conclusion of the upcoming season. You will be shocked at the teams who will rise to the top.
