When you go to a Kansas City Royals game, you don’t expect to see much. You do, though, expect to SEE something.
This past summer during a Royals game, the Royals’ mascot, Sluggerrr, was throwing hot dogs into the stands for no apparent reason. As he was heaving the franks into the sea of people, he actually hit someone in the eye, nearly blinding him. That person was John Coomer, a Royals fan who has dealt with a detached retina and cataracts because of the ‘flying frank.’
Because of the incident, Coomer is suing the Kansas City Royals for $25,000. Hopefully for Coomer, the Royals have $25,000 to pay him.
As for Sluggerrr, I am sure that he will not be with the team any longer. Once your mascot starts costing you more money than your best players, it’s time for them to go.
