Super Bowl XLIV Becomes Most Watched Show Of All-Time

As anticipated, the New Orleans Saints’ victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV has surpassed the 1983 finale of MASH to become the most-watched show in television history.

Nielsen Co. is estimating that 106.5 million people tuned in to watch the game. The MASH finale had 105.97 million viewers which is still far more impressive considering there weren’t nearly the same amount of television sets back then.

In case you’re wondering, last years Super Bowl against the Cardinals and Steelers only had 98.7 million viewers.

With the NFL become more and more popular every single year, I’d expect that record to be broken again next year.
