Terrell Owens was just selected by USA Today as the best receiver of the 2000’s. This prompted Terrell to comment, “I know hands-down I’d be close to Jerry Rice’s records if I had been with quality quarterbacks like he had. He had Joe Montana and he finished with Steve Young. That wasn’t a dropoff. Say I had been with a guy like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning or Drew Brees all of my career. Are you kidding me?”
And surprise surprise, he is absolutely correct. Sure he had Steve Young for a little bit, but that ended fast with a concussion filledĀ Steve Young on his last legs, then he hadĀ Jeff Garcia who has consistently been given a raw deal by NFL franchises, making his production not what it could have been. Which in turn effects teammates production.
And let me say this loudly, Donovan McNabb might get you amazing fantasy football points, but he is beyond overrated. He has proven that he can’t win the big one. He was helped by an amazing defense but hasn’t pulled his weight in the overall scheme of things. I’m willing to battle further in the comments section if needed.
Then it gets worse, Tony Romo and the circus of the Dallas Cowboys and anything that comes from the Buffalo Bills almost speaks for itself on everything T.O. stated.
T.O. might be a prick, and has a case of some of the drops but he actually has said something truthful here. It should be interesting to see what team gets him next year. Maybe he’ll get his wish for a great QB or it might be the same old song and dance.
But given the hand he has been dealt, he has had a great career. He just would have been better if he got what he had hoped for.

Its sad the ESPN and others distort what people say just because a person is not liked by the whole…TO is absolutely right and noone wants to admit it once again…he was right whn he said garcia was gay right again whn he said mcnabb choked and once again right when he said romo targets Whitten too much, no wonder the cowboys did well whn Austin who is a deep threat was targeted more than whitten…but i guess TO was wrong huh go figure…food for thought
TO only has himself to blame for not being able to catch Jerry Rice.
In only 21 regular season games with the “overrated” Donovan McNabb throwing to him, TO caught 124 passes for 1,963 yards and 20TD. That averages out to 5.9 catches for 93.47 yards and 0.95TDs a game. Jerry Rice played in 303 NFL games and finished with 1,549 catches for 22, 895 yards and 197TDs. If Owens played in 303 games averaging the numbers he saw courtesy of passes coming from the “low-quality” McNabb, he would finish with 1,788 catches for 28,321 yards and 288 TDs.
The problem is TO cares only about TO. No franchise would put up with his attitude for an entire career and neither would any ONE quarterback.
