If you haven’t heard yet, the Associated Press has completely disgraced the National Football League by naming Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson as the 2009 defensive player of the year over Jets CB, Darrelle Revis. I get that Woodson is a savvy veteran, who has always treated the media with respect, but he’s not even the best player at his own position!
Not only is Revis by far the best cornerback in the NFL, he’s possibly the best defensive back we’ve seen since Deion Sanders was at his best. And arguments can be made that Revis is even better than Primetime because he helps out in run support too.
I’m not trying to take anything away from Woodson, he’s a great player! Revis just happens to be a once in a lifetime talent who literally shuts down every receiver he faces.
