Following his release from the Cleveland Browns, Derek Anderson had some kind words to say about the fans of Cleveland.

“The fans are ruthless and don’t deserve a winner. I will never forget getting cheered when I was injured. I know at times I wasn’t great. I hope and pray I’m playing when my team comes to town and (we) roll them.”

Of course, since saying that, Anderson has apologized, and he said that his words just came out of frustration. But regardless of the source of his hateful words, I am sure that Cleveland fans are still mad at their former starting quarterback.

But he may not be the only Cleveland sports figure that Cleveland fans are mad at. Last night, following Anderson’s hate-statement, LeBron James was seen laughing it up at a college party with none other than Derek Anderson and Ben Roethlisberger.

That may be the explanation for LeBron’s sudden need for rest.

Those college parties will get ya every time!

If you are a fan of the Miami Heat, you might be wondering where Rafer Alston disappeared to. Shortly after losing his starting job to Carlos Arroyo, Alston left the team without much explanation.

Well, today it has come out that Alston left the team to go see his twin sister, Racine, who allegedly tried to commit suicide.

Alston said, “I’ve never been a quitter and I still want to go back and tell them face to face. But after I had a little time to think about the fact that I wouldn’t be playing any more, I felt the best thing was for me to be with my loved one.”

Conveniently (cough, cough), Alston has said that his sister’s attempted suicide came a few days BEFORE he was taken out of the starting lineup. Of course, in reality, Alston did not want people to find out the truth: That he was the one who went to commit suicide because of his new role as a bench player.

Is it just me, or did Rafer Alston never get mentioned as a twin before this story came out?

Today the Kansas City Chiefs signed veteran running back Thomas Jones to a 2-year deal worth $5 million.

After leading the New York Jets‘ first-ranked rushing attack last season, Jones was released because the two parties could not agree on the restructuring of a contract.

The new pickup should make Chiefs fans happy, as their team is receiving a player who is known to have great leadership and inspirational qualities. And for a young team like the Chiefs, that is exactly what they need. (Coming off of career-highs in rushing yards (1402) and touchdowns (14) doesn’t hurt either.)

One group of people who are not so thrilled about the move, are fantasy football owners who were hoping to steal Jamaal Charles in their fantasy drafts. Before the Jones pickup, Charles was the unanimous number one running back in Kansas City, and the way he finished last season, fantasy football owners were very excited about the prospect of picking him, especially in a league where teams have generally become running back by committee. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. (Even though there are reports that say that Charles is still the feature back)

So much for Jamaal Charles being a fantasy stud.

Come on, Chiefs!

In the WWE Universe, anything can happen. So maybe it shouldn’t be a surprise that the fiance of Academy Awards winner Jennifer Hudson could possibly be the future of the WWE.

A few days ago in Santa Monica, Jockism had the opportunity to talk to WWE NXT star David Otunga. Some may know him as“Punk” from his days on the reality show, “I Love New York 2″ or as mentioned earlier, the fiance of Jennifer Hudson.

But after a few minutes with him, he should actually be recognized as a Harvard educated loving father who is deeply in love with his future wife and has an amazing future ahead of him. Both in and out of the ring.

When talk geared towards his Hollywood lifestyle that include the parties, the magazine covers and the red carpets. He approached things without ego, but more of a self assurance of himself. He never made you feel below him. It is almost like he belongs there.

With that charisma, the WWE rookie is taking his opportunity to become a major superstar even though he is only a year into his training. He is aware he has plenty to learn, but looks forward to the opportunities he has and will receive.

Some recent Hollywood inspired events were when he helped Jennifer with her Oscar ballot. They watched all the nominated films together and a majority of their selections were the actual winners this past Sunday.

They both thought Jeff Bridges and Mo’Nique were locks to win but struggled on picking a winner between Sandra Bullock and Gabourey Sidibe, but eventually leaned towards Sandra Bullock as their choice.

They both liked The Hurt Locker, but chose Avatar as Best Picture. So not 100% in their selections, but obviously they were both in the right frame of mind.

But like millions of others, they didn’t attend the Academy Awards this year, as David has never been but hopes to go next year with a hopeful and potential nomination for Jennifer to make things that much more eventful.
